The unmistakable, buttery consistency of our top oil color assortment is achieved through the careful combination of the finest oils with a trace (0,5-1,5%) of the finest, bleached beeswax which also makes the color film for the restorer less brittle. A uniform drying of all shades without cracking is guaranteed by the use of high quality, specially purified linseed and sunflower oil. The typical drying time for LUKAS oil paint is 2 to 4 days across all color shades, with a thin brush stroke of 100 to 120 μm. Sunflower oil is used in the manufacture of the lighter shades to greatly reduce the traditional (yellowing) that occurs when made with linseed oil.
